Having sat derelict for more than 10 years this home was an adventure to renovate. No windows remained intact, you had to jump over a hole in the hallway floor to get down to what was the bathroom and toilet, the rubbish had been piled so high in the lounge room and one of the bedrooms the weight had forced its’ way through the windows. To get into the home you had to clamber over rubbish more than 1.5metres high in places. It took a total of 10 people 6 day’s to clear all rubbish from inside the home and the front/back yards. Payless Bins removed more than 150m3, leaving a bin with us whilst taking another away. Work began in June, it was wet, difficult but extremely satisfying to restore this home for another family to live in – project time – 9 weeks from start to completion.
A considerable amount of flooring had to be replaced. The entire home was rewired and replumbed, new kitchen installed, new bathroom, toilet, laundry, floor coverings, tiling to kitchen/dining/laundry/bathroom and toilet. New windows and window coverings, new fencing to the front, back and 1 side of the property, new entry decks to the front and back doors, new doors and even new grass! More than 40 people contributed to the success of this project and as you can see from the photos, it’s never to late!
